About Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) Calculator

The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) Calculator helps you estimate the maturity amount, total interest earned, and real (inflation-adjusted) value of your investment under the government’s SSY scheme. It provides an accurate projection based on current interest rates and deposit duration, helping parents plan secure futures for their daughters.

Formula (With Inflation Adjustment)

M = P × [(1 + r)^n − 1] / r × (1 + r)^(T − n); M_infl = M / (1 + i)^T; Real Return = ((1 + r) / (1 + i)) − 1

Where: M = Maturity Amount, P = Yearly Deposit, r = Annual Interest Rate (in decimal), n = Deposit Years, T = Total Maturity Period (21 years), and i = Inflation Rate (in decimal). The calculator first compounds annual deposits for 15 years, then grows the amount for the remaining 6 years, optionally adjusting for inflation.

Example:

Input: ₹1,20,000 annual deposit for 15 years at 8.2% interest, inflation rate 5.75%.

Output: Maturity Value ≈ ₹63.5 lakh; Total Investment ₹18 lakh; Inflation-adjusted Value ≈ ₹28.6 lakh; Real Return ≈ 2.3% per annum.

Steps to Use:

  1. Enter your yearly deposit amount (₹).
  2. Enter the current SSY interest rate (default 8.2%).
  3. Set deposit duration (maximum 15 years) and total maturity period (21 years).

  5. Click 'Calculate' to view your maturity amount, total investment, and real return.
